Constitution Hall -

  • 9:30am – All bands in-place for dress rehearsal w/ Conductor María Luisa de la Cerda Rohde, MSG USArmy (ret) The United States Army Band
     

  • 9:55am – Horizon & Sunrise Middle Schools – America
     

  • 10:00am – Please rise and remain standing for the presentation of colors by the Young Marines of the DC Metro area, under the command of SgtMaj Shaun Betton followed by the playing of the National Anthem performed by the massed band and choir, conducted by our special guest conductor, MSG Rohde (ret) Former Drum Major of the United States Army Band
     

  • 10:03am – MC Welcomes everyone and introduces the Elks, Veterans and music groups:

        Horizon Middle School Band, Stacy Bean, director

        Elsinore Middle School Band, Jeannine Dinger, director

        Sunrise Middle School Band, Pat Nebesniak, director

        Griffiths Middle School Band & Choir, Nathan Ksiazek, director

        Carbon High School Band, Adam Cunningham, director

        Taylor County Middle School Band, Josh Chiado, director

        Lakota East High School Choir, Becky Huddilston, director

  • 10:25am – Taylor County Middle School, This is My Country
     

  • 10:30am – Veteran Speaker, Dennis Henline, US Marine Corps
     

  • 10:35am - America the Beautiful, performed by the massed choir
     

  • 10:40am – Veteran Speaker, Roger Highfield, US Navy
     

  • 10:45am –Lakota East High School Choir, My Country tis of Thee
     

  • 10:50 – Introduce Student Speaker, Liam Martin a junior from Lakota East High School
     

  • 10:55am – All Please Stand, Young Marines of the DC Metro region as they Place the wreaths on stage, Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound performed by Carbon High School from Utah.
     

  • 11:00 – Griffiths Middle School Band, performs: Make Way for Melody
     

  • 11:05am – WWII Veterans 
    Hector Hita, Sr, Army 11th Airborne Division, paratrooper, fought all over the Pacific Theater including Leyte & Luzon. Continued to jump in his 90’s
    Stearns Poor, Marines, served on aircraft carrier in European Theater
    Angel “Manny” Maldonado, Army 11th Airborne Division, paratrooper/glider, fought in the Pacific Theater. Part of the occupied forces in Japan.
     

  • 11:10am - Concluding remarks, Joel Biggs
     

  • 11:20am – Mass Bands Perform: God Bless America, Conducted by MSG Rohde
     

  • Ceremony concludes
